November 17, 2011 – 4.02% for 30 year fixed home loan rates / 3.38% for 15 year fixed home loans
November 8, 2011 – 4.05% for 30 year fixed mortgage rates / 3.35% for 15 year fixed mortgage rates
Remember that interest rates can greatly fluctuate on the 30 year and 15 year fixed mortgage. With this in mind it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the 10 year treasury rate yield. The 10 year treasury rate yield and the 30 year fixed mortgage have had a very strong correlation for over four decades so as one moves so does the other. If Americans see a quick move up in the 10 year treasury rate yield then that likely means that we will see higher mortgage interest rates in the very near future.
